What is a portrait Experience?

The Portrait Experience I live for these sessions!

My passion is bringing these few elements together for you; story, fashion, location, and connection. I believe all these things will create a stunning photo or collection and tell your legacy. An outfit or a mood can make or break a photo! So here is a run through of my portrait sessions to explain my process and the experience you will have.

The experience I want you to have is a stress free, trusting and fun one. From first contact we will discuss your ideas so far, who is being photographed and a background on why. It is so important that I get to know you and your story before you’re photographed, this way I can learn how you are to be photographed and what I can bring out in the session to show off YOU.

To get the ball rolling I send out a questionnaire to learn about you and what kind of session you want. From there I ask you to save, Pinterest, create a mood board for me so I can then incorporate that into my style and bring the ideas to life with my team.

Yes, team! For your motherhood, self-love or couple shoots - you get hair and make up as options for my portrait sessions. And why not?! Get pampered, feel special in the moment, embrace what’s happening and feel the confidence oozing from you. My team will style you to how you want to be and work throughout the session to make sure everything looks perfect!

I love fashion and so this is a key part of my sessions. Within the mood board and ideas we discuss wardrobe! I can advise on what you already have or you can go SHOPPING. Yes you have the permission to shop! Treat yourself or wear one of your favourite outfits! If you don’t like what you are wearing then you aren’t going to want to be photographed in it. I want to see you full of confidence so wardrobe choice is super important. I may also have some pieces available to use from my studio wardrobe!

During the build up to the session we will have discussed location or studio, styling and how to prepare. I have a guide on how best to prepare before the session, which is really going to help you and also get you even more excited for it!

The day of the session has arrived and we will meet and my stylists will start with your hair and make up. The session is photographed in sections either by location or outfit. We have fun, we laugh, get emotional maybe, but most importantly – have the best time!

1 week after your session your collection will be ready for viewing! You will be invited to my studio to view them (zoom if not possible in person). We will look at the collection and then you will get to look through my products where you will select the presentation product you want for your collection as well as purchasing any wall art. I will help and advise you on picking the best print products to display in your home so you can look at your amazing photos everyday!
