Top 3 tips when planning your proposal

So you are planning to propose, you’ve got the ring and you conjuring up an idea of how, when and where.

Stop there.

Here’s 3 tips for your proposal

Where

You have the ring. Now make a plan of where to propose.

Don’t over complicate it but think - would your other half appreciate a public proposal or just the two of you?

Then make your location super personal, thinking about each other and what it’ll mean to you both in this moment.

Selecting the right location for your proposal sets the stage for a truly magical moment.

Think about places that hold sentimental value for both of you or spots that have a picturesque backdrop.

Whether it's where you first met, your favourite park, or a serene beach at sunset, the location adds an extra layer of emotion to the proposal.

Consider what resonates most with your partner and choose a place that reflects the unique journey of your relationship.

The right setting not only enhances the experience but also provides a beautiful backdrop for the photographs that will capture this special memory forever.

Backup Plan

There are not many proposal’s I’ve been told of where they went 100% to plan. Sometimes things just aren’t as straight forward as you’d hope and it can’t always be perfect - but your other half won’t know!

So with that in mind - have an alternative plan for weather, grumpy partner, closures, tidal times so whatever happens, you BOTH have a great proposal.

While we all hope for a flawless, sunny day, sometimes Mother Nature has other plans. Having a backup plan ensures that unforeseen circumstances won't derail your proposal.

Think about alternative locations or activities that can seamlessly replace your initial plan if needed. Whether it's a sudden rain shower or a surprise event at your chosen location, having a backup plan ensures that the moment remains as enchanting as you envisioned.

Flexibility is key, and a well-thought-out backup plan demonstrates your commitment to making this moment perfect, come rain or shine.

Document

Preserve the raw emotions and joy of your proposal by hiring a professional photographer.

While selfies and smartphone photos are great, having a dedicated photographer ensures that every fleeting expression and reaction is captured in high-quality images.

A proposal is a once-in-a-lifetime moment, and having these memories professionally documented allows you to relive the magic for years to come.

A skilled proposal photographer knows how to discreetly capture the essence of the moment, providing you with a treasure trove of images that tell the unique story of your love.

Don't let this unforgettable moment pass by without the stunning visual memories it deserves.

Book in your photographer as soon as you have your date (potential dates in mind). Discuss your plans and exactly how you picture the proposal unfolding so your photographer can get the vibe from you and give any advise to help it go as smooth as possible.

It can feel like an exciting mission with count downs, signals or decoys - making it even more of an event for you! From there you and photographer would get the timings and locations arranged with plan A,B & C!

This is a huge moment in both of your lives and like all huge moments in life, it should be documented.

So ditch the idea of a selfie, grabbing some stranger or dragging a family member with you to take the iphone photo.

Give yourself and your partner the experience it deserves.

If you are reading this and you didn’t get a photographer booked in time, still try to find a way to capture the moment, it’ll never happen again - you’ll both appreciate it I promise you!
