1 Cherry Blossom Bliss

Spring Portrait Ideas to Inspire Your Next Photoshoot

There is something undeniably enchanting about these delicate pink and white petals, and incorporating them into your session will create a truly breathtaking experience.

First things first, timing is everything. Cherry blossoms have a short-lived appearance, usually lasting only a few weeks. So, make sure to plan your session during the peak bloom period to capture the full splendour of these beautiful blooms. Keep an eye on the local bloom forecasts or reach out to your photographer (that's me!) as we are experts in tracking bloom progress.

Expect peak blossoms in April.

Now, let's talk location. Seek out parks or streets lined with cherry blossom trees, as they offer a mesmerising backdrop for your photos. Picture yourself strolling under a canopy of blossoms or twirling in their gently falling petals - pure magic!

To make the most of the cherry blossoms, consider the overall mood and colour palette you want to capture. The soft, pastel hues of the blossoms can create an ethereal and romantic feel. Coordinate your outfits with the colour scheme to enhance the overall impact of the images. Think soft pinks, blush tones, and other light and airy colours that complement the delicate nature of the blossoms.

When it comes to posing, embrace the whimsy and playfulness of the cherry blossom season. Allow the delicate petals to interact with your movements. Dance amongst the blooms, lie down and let the petals fall around you, or simply hold the blossoms in your hand.

2 Bluebells

First off, timing is key. Bluebells usually grace us with their presence in late spring, so keep an eye out for the ideal window to capture their full bloom.

Expect peak blossoms in April and into May.

When seeking out locations, think about dense woodlands or open fields where bluebells create an awe-inspiring carpet of blue and purple blooms. Picture the dreamy setting these flowers can create, offering a magical and serene environment for your photos.

To make the most of the bluebells, consider the overall mood and colour palette you want to achieve. Take into account that greens and purples already exist and will likely clash if the outfits don't quite work. Aim for softer greens or purples or opt for a neutral palette.

3 Golden Hour

Timing is everything when it comes to Golden Hour. As the sun dips towards the horizon, it casts a soft, warm glow that adds a touch of romance and dreaminess to your photos. The photoshoot must be scheduled during this magical hour, ensuring that every shot is kissed by the golden light.

Golden hour in spring time can range from 6pm-8:30pm Depending on the month.

When choosing locations, think of fields with rolling landscapes without any tree, or the beach and coastal areas allowing plenty of are to capture the sun dipping.
